Post Monitored Mode Interface Does Not Work with Xplico
Please help me resolve this issue. I am running xplico on BT4 R1, I place my wlan0 in monitored mode mon0, I try to capture traffic using wireshark with mon0 interface, I see lots of HTTP traffic, I stop the capture and save the capture with the default wireshark libpcap file. I try to load it in xplico in the new session, there is no data. I try saving the pcap file using other formats in wireshark, no luck. I then try to connect to an open wireless network using wlan0 interface, captured my packets using wlan0 in wireshark, loaded to xplico and xplico can read the pcap capture on wlan0. I tried the live capture case using mon0 interface, xplico would not display any data captured. I then try the wlan0 interface using the live capture and xplico can see the data. I tried this on another laptop with a different wireless chipset and produced the exact same results. I'm sure the monitored interface mon0 is what everyone is using, not the wlan0 interface. I tried all the advice on FAQ page like setting the post size and chmod the suggested directories. Why is this happening?

Hello,

please ensure you are capturing full packets, no feiled ones. Some times you are adquiring only headers and a bit of the data, not everything. You can try with "tcpdump -s0 ...".

If this is not the problem, could you do a sample capture and post it here?

Regards,
Carlos.
