Post Re: General errors and solutions
Hi
there are two workarounds:
A]
Code:
cd /xbuild/videosnarf-0.63/src
g++  -g -O2   -o videosnarf  main.o stream.o videosnarf.o h264rtp.o g722_decode.o g726_decoder.o g729_decoder.o g723_decoder.o ../codec-lib/libG729a.a ../codec-lib/libG7231.a ../codec-lib/libG726.a -L /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ -lpcap

B]
Code:
ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libpcap.so /lib/libpcap.so
cd /xbuild/videosnarf-0.63
make

I hope one of them is good.

Ciao.
Gianluca

Not one to leave well enough alone, I'm trying to install 1.0.0 on Backtrack 5.0 and I'm running into the same issue when running 'make'. I'm sure there's an easy fix for this but I can't seem to figure it out. I have a project on Friday that Xplico would be very helpful with. I appreciate any and all help.

I've answered my own question I think. Many wrong versions of libraries in BackTrack 5. I'm debating on whether or not I should try resolving them all or just run Xplico in a VM.

Hi funkbuddha,
the workarounds your issue are these:
on the ipc.c source code add these line (on the head):
Code:
#define DLT_IPV4              228

on the ipv6.c source code add these line (on the head):
Code:
#define DLT_IPV6              229

Ciao.

Post Re: General errors and solutions
Hi all,

I've built xplico from source in Debian 7.0. I want to use web ui of xplico so first I start xplico daemon and then log into xplico's web ui.
Then I make two cases, one session in either, one for live capture and another for pcap analysis. The problem is that in none of these cases no packet is extracted from stream.
For example in live capture session I select NIC and press "Start", the "Live capture started" message appears at top of page but nothing other changes. In pcap analysis session, after uploading pcap file (either from xplico samples or my dumps) also nothing changes.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Hi,
a rapid check, run
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc
If the output will be like that:
Code:
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc version 1.1

Copyright (c) 2011 Gianluca Costa & Andrea de Franceschi. All Rights Reserved.
Binary licensed under the following Creative Commons license:  Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0).
...

all it is Ok, and then your issue has another source (may be a bug). Otherwise the problem is the Python version, in this case post here the output of the command:
python3 -V

Ciao.
Gianluca

Hi dear Gianluca,

Your guess is right, the output of running session_mng.pyc is as follows:
Code:
root@debian:/home/all# /opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc: line 1: $'l\f\r': command not found
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc: line 2: $'\231d6Oc=@s2': command not found
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc: line 3: syntax error near unexpected token `)'
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc: line 3: `dZ
                                               dZ
dZZed kr.     y)ejejd'                         dZ

And the python3 version is 3.2.3

Code:
root@debian:/home/all# python3 -V
Python 3.2.3

What should I do?
Thanks in advance.

Post Re: General errors and solutions
Hi,

I solved the running directly *.pyc files as an script problem, by installing binfms-support package for debian. Also I installed pyhton3-httplib2 to be able to run session_mng.pyc. So the out put of running session_mng.pyc is as:

Quote:
root@debian:/home/all# /opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc
/opt/xplico/script/session_mng.pyc version 1.1

Copyright (c) 2011 Gianluca Costa & Andrea de Franceschi. All Rights Reserved.
Binary licensed under the following Creative Commons license:

But unfortunately web ui is just like before, NO action is performed after starting live capture or uploading pcap file.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Regards.
