Hi Francesco,
in Xplico the console options can be only for core functions or for capture modules and not for dispatcher modules or dissector modules. This was a design choice.
In fact you can see the difference by running:
Code:
./xplico -h
...
usage: xplico [-c <config_file>] [-h] [-g] [-l] [-i <prot>] -m <capute_module>
        -c config file
        -h this help
        -i info of protocol 'prot'
        -g display graph-tree of protocols
-l print all log in the screen
        -m capture type module
NOTE: parameters MUST respect this order!

or
Code:
./xplico -h -m pcap
...
usage: xplico [-c <config_file>] [-h] [-g] [-l] [-i <prot>] -m pcap -f <file> | -d <file_dir_path>
        -c config file
        -h this help
        -i info of protocol 'prot'
        -g display graph-tree of protocols
-l print all log in the screen
        -m capture type module
        ----- module params -----
-f pcap or snoop file name
-d pcap or snoop files dir path
NOTE: parameters MUST respect this order!

or
Code:
./xplico -h -m rltm
...
usage: xplico [-c <config_file>] [-h] [-g] [-l] [-i <prot>] -m rltm {-i <interface>  [-f <filter>]}
        -c config file
        -h this help
        -i info of protocol 'prot'
        -g display graph-tree of protocols
-l print all log in the screen
        -m capture type module
        ----- module params -----
        -i interface: eth0, eth1, ...
        -f filter
NOTE: parameters MUST respect this order!

The 'xdecode' is part of Lite dispatcher module. The only way is to introduce a parameter in the configuration file. This parameter is specific only for Lite dispatcher and not for other dispatchers.

But it is easier to create a link (ln -s /xxx/yyyy xdecode) rather than change the configuration file. ;)

Ciao.
Gianluca

Thanks for the reply,
I need to have multiple instances of contemporary Xplico process with different input "-f option" pcap file and split the output into different folders like "xdecode_pcapfilename.
Is this possible :?:

Saluti,
Francesco

Hi Francesco,
Attachment:
cli_personal.patch.gz

this patch should be used with Xplico 0.5.7. The 0.5.7 release will be public this week with DEFT5.1.
Steps:
Code:
cd dispatch/cli
patch -p0 < cli_personal.patch

Ciao.
Gianluca
